Flat-as-a-Pancake

FAAP_100.gifSpring into action, expand your riding ability and distances, and honor Natalie Kekeisen all at the same time with this flat Illinois century. Natalie was known for baking dozens of cookies for cyclists, and this ride will follow in that tradition. Ride the first 25 miles to Mills Apple Farm where you may buy freshly baked cookies. Continue on to the 45-mile rest stop which will have lots of free cookies. And finally, yes, the last rest stop (60 miles) at Damiansville Elementary School will also have free cookies before lunch. Ride a 66-mile metric century, or go for the 100-mile century (which will have two rest stops after lunch) and receive a FAAP ride patch. Natalie G. Kekeisen passed away in 1989 of cancer at age 54. FAAP was given Natalie’s name to honor her memory as an outstanding ride leader who encouraged cyclists to meet and exceed their goals. She left behind two Gateway Council legacies: “The Tuesday Morning Rides” and “The CATSUP Rides (Cycle Around the State Universities and Parks).” Come experience the kind of ride Natalie would have enjoyed. SAG support by The Cyclery in Edwardsville, IL.
